A 1945 Royal Society house book — Hand Crochet, Book No. 4 — printed Copyright 1945, Royal Society, Inc., First Edition 545, from 230 Fifth Avenue, New York 1. Original cover price 25 cents.

Room by room, this is the booklet that promised “a wealth of priceless possessions to enrich your home.” Most of the work is thread crochet in Royal Society Eversheen and Six Cord Cordichet, with steel hooks. Two patterns are written for knitting pins: an 11" doily and a block bedspread. Everything else is crochet — filet, motifs, Irish lace, rugs, edgings, and kitchen cotton. Patterns are a mixture of crochet and knitting.
