A 1945 American Thread toy book — Toys…, Star Book 39, designed by Cecilia Vanek and printed Copyright 1945 by The American Thread Co., Inc. from 260 West Broadway, New York 13.
Each toy is written so the same stitch count works in Dawn Worsted Floss, Dawn Knitting Worsted, Star Cotton Yarn, Star Pearl, De Luxe, or Sillateen Sansilk—change the thread, change the size. Cover stars are the cock horse with rider and Humpty on the wall. Patterns are crochet only (loop stitch, sc, and stuffed assembly).

Condition of this copy: Pages are thin and flimsy. A chip about 1 cm × 0.5 cm is torn from the top of every page, and a strip about 2 cm × 0.25 cm is torn from the long edge of every page. Writing appears on several interior pages. The spine is intact on all pages; all patterns and photos remain readable.
