Place Mats and Doilies, Book No. 315, 1955
This charming 1955 Coats & Clark booklet captures the fresh, contemporary style of mid-century table linens. With a mix of elegant doilies and practical place mats, it offered crocheters beautiful ways to dress up their tables with clean lines, interesting textures, and just the right touch of color.
Inside you’ll find lovely designs such as the striking Star Wheel place mat (S-750) featured on the cover, the delicate Orange Blossom doily (S-748), Ripple Rhythm (S-749), Rose Wreath (S-757), Comet’s Tail (S-758), and the intricate Brocade doily (S-759). Place mat patterns include Strawberry Cream (S-751), Avocado Stripes (S-752), Silver Sands (S-753), Candy Cane (S-754), and Modern Classic (S-756). Several patterns use Knit-Cro-Sheen Metallic and Speed-Cro-Sheen for added shimmer and durability.
Condition note: At some point the cover pages had separated. A previous owner attempted repair with invisible tape that has since yellowed and cracked. I reinforced the spine on the inside of the cover with a strip of archival tape so it can be safely handled and displayed. All pages remain complete and fully readable.
